On my 2016 Q1 Finish-A-Long list the first item was a secret sewing project and now I can finally reveal it. It’s an Open Wide Zipper Pouch (tutorial by Noodlehead) for my QuiltCon 2016 Triangle Quilt Challenge co-conspirator. After finishing the quilt (topic for a future blog post) there were just a few triangles left over. Of course, something should be done about that.
My favorite fun prints made it into the pieced panels and I quilted them up. Love those goldfish and Olivia Pig.
The fun “Maker” print screamed to be included as the lining. I put some buttons in the pouch and gifted it to my co-conspirator at QuiltCon. I hope my she is inspired each time she opens the pouch. 🙂
Yvonne (QuiltingJetGirl) has been trading mini mini-quilts and I was super stoked when she said she’d trade with me. Yvonne was my 2015 New Quilt Bloggers hive leader and she generously shares so much with all of us out here in blogland. Her favorite color is blue and she does amazing color transparency work. Given those things, I pulled some blues out of my 3/4-inch square stash to make another of my “inexplicable obsession” pieces.
Inexplicable Obsession in Blue finished at 2 3/4 x 4 and easily fit in an envelope and went on its way to Yvonne.
And here’s the amazing mini mini quilt Yvonne sent me! It’s 3 1/2 x 3 inches tiny. See what I mean about her color work? The card on the bottom is her quilty business card. You might recognize that design. It’s the quilt on the cover of the 2016 QuiltCon magazine. Congrats again, Yvonne! And thank you for trading with me.
Mark one project off my first quarter Finish-A-Long list which is the second of the four. The two remaining projects move on to the second quarter. Linking up with Debbie over at A Quilter’s Table.
