1Q2016 Finish-A-Long Goals

With the start of a new year and after surveying my studio after finishing a major project, it seems appropriate to join the 2016 Finish-a-Long and cross off some projects on my way too long WIP list. As this is my first foray into the realm of publicly declaring goals, I’m keeping the list realistic. Here goes nothing!

No. 1: THE Secret Sewing Project

I can’t say much or post a picture as it is a secret, but this one will be finished and gifted very soon. Since it was in pieces at the beginning of the year, I feel justified in putting it on the list.

No. 2: Sew Together Bag

Started in a workshop, it would feel so great to walk back into my LQS and report that the bag is done! And, I think those sheep are too cute.

No. 3: The Oak Quilt

Since the intended recipient graduated last May and this quilt was supposed to be a graduation gift, I really should get this project off the WIP list. The top and back is done and I need to quilt and bind to finish up. Yikes, it’s that quilting phase that so hard for me.

No. 4: Green Improv Which Needs A Name

This project is a long shot for a finish this quarter as I have no idea how much more needs to be done to declare it “done”. My prediction is a Q3 finish so I can develop the design further.

In addition to these projects, I’ll be doing Mighty Lucky Quilting Club monthly challenges, binding the Seattle Modern Quilt Guild Charity Challenge quilt, going to QuiltCon, and doing a couple of workshops. Q1 is going to be busy! Wish me luck on my FAL list.

In other news, today is my two-year blogiversary. There aren’t as many posts as I imagined or wrote in my head. The posts I’ve done have been incredible learning experiences and I plan to develop further. Thanks for reading!

    • Thanks, Debbie. During the day I thought of another project and added it to the list. And, I managed to do my first linky party on your site. Woo hoo! Thanks for co-hosting the FAL and encouraging us to work down our WIP lists.

    • Aw, thanks Melanie! 😘 I’m using some long hoarded Cherrywoods for that improv project. Now that I think of it, using up limited fabric maybe the “finish” gauge. End of fabric = end of quilt top! 😃

  1. Belated congratulations on your bloggerversary (or whatever it might be called!). I’m looking forward to seeing your projects progressing, some finishes ☺ and the new projects you are inspired to begin. Happy New Year!

  2. Congrats on your 2nd anniversary! And for taking the leap into publicly declaring your UFO goals. It’s my first time to join the Finish-A-Long too. I was too ambitious for my first quarter, especially given the things that have popped up on my schedule in the last week. Oh well, I can always hope for success!
